Emergency Medical Technician

Elite Ambulance Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT) Program is a three-four-month course of study based on the U.S. Department of Transportation's National EMS Education Standards and the NHTSA National EMS Scope of Practice Model for EMT Instruction.  Upon successful completion of the course of studies, Elite Ambulance EMT candidates are eligible to test the National Registry examination for EMT's to gain their license as an EMT-Basic. Incorporated into each 170-hour course are 16 hours of ambulance ride time and 16 hours of clinical rotation in hospital emergency departments. 

Who should take this course?

Elite Ambulance’s Emergency Medical Technician course is designed for individuals who either want to enhance their career in EMS or for individuals that wish to get their foot into the EMS door. This is an entry-level course with no prior experience or education needed (besides a high school diploma or GED). We suggest you take our EMR course before taking our EMT course; however, this is not needed to begin.

Basic Life Support (BLS)

The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Who should take this course?

The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.

The primary function of the EMR Driver is to provide medical assistance to the EMT-B within the scope of their practice and transportation for a patient at the Emergency Medical Service Driver (EMR Driver) level. This person should have the ability to work well with other employees, patients, their families, and professionals from our accounts and service areas. They should also have the ability to obtain appropriate patient care information, as needed, and completing all additional paperwork as required by the system and company.

 

Elite Ambulance Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Program is a 10-day, 80-hour course of study based on the U.S. Department of Transportation's National EMS Education Standards. Upon completing the course of studies, Elite Ambulance will issue the student with an EMR license provided by the State of Illinois.

Who should take this course?
